I had never visited the IU Bloomington campus. The Balfour program allowed me to see all that IU has to offer inside and outside the classroom. That summer experience was ultimately why I chose to come here to IU.Javonte Henderson
High School Participants
The Scholars Program has served over 500 students from more than 85 different high schools throughout the state of Indiana. Upon completing the summer Pre-College Academy hosted by the IU School of Education, high school participants are automatically eligible for the Mentor Year program. Mentor Year pairs a high school participant with a first-year Indiana University student who will discuss academic goals, navigating the high school to college transition, college knowledge, and college fit. High school participants will additionally be invited to activities such as college fairs, concerts, tutoring programs, and college readiness workshops held on and around Indiana University campuses.
