The Global Competence Workshop Series (GCWS) includes a Fall and a Spring series which are made up of three workshops each. The aim of the series is to equip the 21st century educators with the skills to infuse global aspects in their instruction and to incorporate global topics and perspectives in schools across Indiana. The module titles are:
- Module #1: Global Competence: Myths, Misconceptions, and Truths
- Module #2: Global Competence: Creating 21st Century Learning Experiences for Students
- Module #3: Teaching for and Assessing Global Competence: What Can Teachers and Schools do?
This initiative is currently funded by a grant from the Longview Foundation and in collaboration with Indiana Department of Education and the Title VI Centers (Center for the Study of the Middle East, East Asian Studies Center, Inner Asian and Uralic National Resource Center, and Russian and East European Institute) at IU’s School of Global and International Studies.
